Martin Carthy is unsurpassed as a performer of English traditional song & dance music. It is impossible to over-estimate his influence on at least two generations of singers & players.
In the workshop pupils will work by ear on a Morris tune & a song collected from Joseph Taylor. The possibilities of CGCDGA guitar tuning will be discussed & demonstrated.
IN THE EVENING MARTIN CARTHY PERFORMS AT THE LEWES ARMS FOLK CLUB

| 11.00 | In preparation learn the Morris tune ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’ preferably in Martin’s tuning of CGCDGA |

| 13.30 | Learn an accompaniment for ‘Creeping Jane’ as sung by Joseph Taylor (but not from his recording). |
