Born in East London, Kathleen's father & mother were from Cork & Laois respectively. Kathleen learned to sing from her mother & from her siblings who all sang and/or played traditional Irish music. She has been involved with Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann & part of the London Irish session scene since her teens. As well as working solo Kathleen appeared, toured & recorded with The London Lasses & Pete Quinn for seven years. She now performs with the storyteller Billy Teare.
The workshop will explore Irish songs (sung in English) from a personal relationship to common themes, along with the style, variation, ornamentation & intrinsic presentation related to the old Sean nos style.
