Lewes Elephant Folk Music No 114
All profits after expenses go to the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, Cecil Sharp House
Scan Tester (1887-1972) was an Anglo concertina player from Sussex with a vast repertoire of social dance & popular tunes. The workshop is aimed at proficient musicians on any instrument, who can learn & play tunes by ear.
Will Duke will simply play tunes at you & encourage you to join in, playing the same tune half a dozen times. Participants can record tunes on the day on their own equipment. By the end of the day he hopes you will have captured some of these tunes, either in your head and/or on your machine.
Will has made a CD including several of the tunes he’ll be using today. To order one see here, or buy it on July 11th.
IN THE EVENING WILL DUKE PERFORMS AT THE LEWES SATURDAY FOLK CLUB AT THE ELEPHANT & CASTLE
(admission £5; advance tickets available from address at end of the booking form)
